Message from the Representative in India:

Mr. Relton Samuel, Program Manager of Mudukalathur ADP.
I assumed the ADP office in April 04. It is incredible to note the transformation that have perpetually happened in this community is noteworthy We have organized series of training program to the Women Self Help Groups and Differently abled groups in the service area of operation. ADP facilitated the Women SHGs to avail Government and Bank assistance to a maximum level. This is a reasonable sign that the mobilization of external resources would pave the way for new era of doing things on they’re own and moving towards the journey of sustainability.
Another area of concentration was the caring for the Differently abled people. 143 Self Help Groups have been organized. This was an eye opener to these groups and it has also built confidence among themselves as they no longer a burden to the family and to the society.
I would just like to recall the saying of the famous poet “Water, Water everywhere but not a drop of water to Drink” this is a case in the service area of operation. The available water in the ground is saline in nature. It is not drinkable in nature. So in order to change the situation, ADP concentrated on rain water storage by deepening the Water ponds, constructing infiltration well and rain water harvesting structures in the households. It’s a breakthrough in the water conservation program. Through this venture the water tables gets increased and the community gets portable water.
Children participation in the ADP program is commendable. They were involved in all sphere of development of the villages. Dropouts of the school going children had a formidable reduction in this year. The special Education Centres, which operates in the villages, are the centre of excellence for the children. I thank the Japanese Sponsors for their magnanimous giving for the upliftment of the Indian Poor.
*These projects are supported by Japanese Sponsors through Child Sponsorship Program. This is the program that by sending 4,500 Yen monthly donation, you support a child but also assist the child's family and community development efforts. You can receive the results of your support through exchanging letters, annual reports of bothchild’s growth and the community development progress, etc.
